Telhio Credit
Union employees welcomed visitors to the Ohio State Fair while contributing to
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio (RMHC) at the same time.
Throughout July, Telhio members donated wish list items to
RMHC in exchange for free tickets to the Ohio State Fair. This promotion,
combined with items collected at the gate during Telhio's Day at the Fair on
July 28, resulted in the collection of twelve pallets of items for families
staying at the Ronald McDonald House. These donations will save RMHC more than
$70,000 in expenses.
The wish list items collected included canned food,
disposable dinnerware, paper goods, and condiments.
"The Telhio Day at the Ohio State Fair has become an annual
tradition, said Nick Biratsis, Vice President of Marketing at Telhio. Being
able to connect with our community while supporting a great cause is part of the
Telhio DNA. Every year our members step up and donate to support Ronald
McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio in a big way. We thank our members for
their generosity."
Additionally, as part of its participation in the Ohio State
Fair, Telhio was a presenting sponsor in The Ohio State University College of
Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Dean's Charity Steer Show on
August 1. The steer show included 10 teams comprised of a team captain and team
champion(s) paired with 4-H members and their steer. Everyone donated their
time to raise money and compete for bragging rights in front of a large crowd
of supporters.
"The 2023 Dean's Charity Steer Show was a major success. Over
$172,700 was raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Central Ohio,
providing enough funding for 1,700 families to stay at the Ronald McDonald
House," said Nick Biratsis, Vice President of Marketing at Telhio. "We're proud
to be an organizer and supporter of this unique event that brings together 4-H
youth, celebrities, businesses, media, and community members. It's even more
special that we can support RMHC in their mission to provide families a
home-away-from-home when they need it most."
